Mission 4A - Mudra She Wrote

Sun pulls his staff back from his opponent's face while replacing it with a kick.

Kitaro stays behind his cover trying not to get noticed.
He gives his spirit two orders to carry out: First grab the glass of water that he was using to wake up Sam and throw the leftover water on one of the attackers, then attack the other guy with any means it sees fit. After this the spirit is free to go.

Round 1, pass 2

Sun does a spinning crescent kick to Two's face, knocking him out cold. Meanwhile Kitaro orders his spirit to toss a glass of water at one of the guys and then fight them as it wishes. It does so and tosses the glass at Three's head, but three ducks and the glass shatters on the floor after bouncing off a cubicle and splashing water everywhere.

Round 2, pass 1

Sun cracks Three over the head with his stick, leaving a bleeding wound and probably a concussion. The spirit follows up with a lightning blast at Three, that he manages to avoid.

Four claps his hands together causing insects to be summoned forth from various cracks everywhere. They cover everything and everyone, climbing all over your skin and in various orifices that insects should not be crawling into. Everyone in the internet cafe who is conscious and aware of the meat world freaks the hell out. The remaining bad guys included.

((for as long as the effect is in effect, Sun and Kitaro have -10 to their initiative, the spirit of man has -12 to his initiative and other people have other various penalties to their initiatives. If you roll less than or equal to the penalty for initiative, you basically spend the round freaking out and slapping bugs))

Kitaro jumps from behind his cover and starts running circles around a nearby desk while screaming.

"Get them off me, get them off me!"

Sam snores, loudly.

Round 3, pass 1

Four appears to be the only one in the building not bothered by the swarms of insects and uses the opportunity to focus on Sun, filling him with crippling agony. The pain is enough to slow him down mid attack.((3P and 3S damage))

Slapping at bugs, the spirit of man snarls at Four and throws a lightning bolt at him that just barely skims past his ear.

Three is completely freaking out by the bugs but manages to hold it together enough to stab at Sun, but Sun parries the attack aside with ease.

In the chaos, Four concentrates on Emiko for a moment, lifting her out of the cubicle and floating her towards the front door.

Seeing Sun taking a heavy hit and Emiko helplessly floating away, Kitaro gets his shit together for a moment.
He drops his physical mask spell returning to his full elvish / human looking glory and casts an influence spell on the other mage.
The suggestion he tries to plant into his brain is "I have to drop all spells I'm sustaining right now!"

Round 4, Pass 1

Kitaro manages to keep his shit together long enough to cast a spell on Four. Moments later, the insects vanish, Sun's pain subsides and Emiko unceremoniously crashes to the ground. ((Sun's 3S and 3P damage from earlier disappear))


Four curses to himself, eyeing Kitaro suspiciously, but continues what he was in the middle of doing, which is grabbing Emiko's unconscious head by the hair, holding his hatchet under her throat and shouting, "Both of you stand back and face away from me or I cut her."

Sun is literally in the middle of beating Four in the face when he hears the threat. He stood down once before and it's been gnawing at him ever since, so he decides to take a risk to save the girl. He adjusts his swing and aims for the hatchet, hoping to knock the hatchet out of Four's hand. Time seems to slow down in his head as the staff moves closer and closer to the hatchet's blade. He is sure he's got it, but Four moves back defensively and instead of disarming him, the blade is lodged deep into Emiko's throat. Arterial blood bursts from the mortal wound that she is mercifully unaware of and she falls to the ground, out of Four's grasp with a thud.  

The spirit of man, unconcerned about Emiko's well-being, throws a bolt of lightning at Four. He ducks aside and backs toward the the exit.  

Three meanwhile sticks his knife into Sun's side. The vast majority of the bite is absorbed by his armor, however. ((2S damage))

Seeing the defenseless person he was trying to protect her throat slit, Sun's eyes spark with a fiery rage. A low rumbling can be heard from him, growing louder and louder, til it explodes as a loud roar.

"You killed my friend without even giving her a proper chance!"

He lunges at Four, with all the rage coursing through his body, veins popping up in his neck, face flushed red with anger. Something's amiss, however. It's like his punches and kicks get pulled back, like there's an uncertainty about them landing properly that keeps him from performing each attack fully.

Kitaro is confronted with another gruesome situation. The second one in a matter of days.
He feels a sudden rush of mixed emotions: disgust, anger and confusion all at once.
Kitaro yells

"What is wrong with all you people!"

and stretches his arms out towards the enemy mage.
His anger manifests as a blue bolt of crackling lightning that streaks towards number four.

((I'm doing this in the assumption that Emiko's wound is not severe enough to kill her in the next 10 seconds, if it would I'd like to cast stabilize instead))

End of Round 4

As Sun screams at the mage, Kitaro sends a bolt of lightning that strikes him in the chest, knocking him back and causing him to spasm a bit. He utters to Sun, "You're the jackass who decided to attack. I wasn't planning on hurting her. You deal with a body, I'm out of here."

Seeing the enemy almost getting blown out of his socks Kitaro immediately turns his attention towards Emiko who is lying on the ground with blood gushing out of an open wound accross her throat.
He mumbles to himself.

"Ok, I can fix this, I can fix this. ... Here we go"

And casts a spell at Emiko to try and stop her from bleeding out.

Round 5, pass 1

Sun charges at the mage, pinning him to the ground, grabbing him by the throat and screaming: "WHO SENT YOU" at him so loud his hair fans out from the wind.

Nobu finally manages to break the spell controlling him and kicks Sun in the head. The kick would be enough to knock out anyone who wasn't a beastly monster like Sun. Sun's head doesn't even move from the impact.

The mage chokes out a laugh, "Are you really that thick? You broke into OUR system!" Sun's head pops again as another headache racks his brain, albeit this one is weaker than the last. ((3S damage))

The spirit of man continues throwing lightning bolts, though Four is no longer able to move with Sun atop him. The bolt strikes the mage, frying him with electricity. He slumps, no longer moving.

Three says, "Fuck this shit, let's go Nobu. The cops are going to be here any moment," and dashes out the front door.

Kitaro rushes to Emiko's side and sees that her throat is really badly cut and she's completely in shock. He's unsure that his spell will be of any actual use, but he tries anyway and attempts to stabilize her wounds. She at least does not appear to be getting any worse...

In the distance, you hear sirens...

Final Pass

Feeling the kick in his head while life drains from Four's body, Sun turns his gaze at Nobu, whose leg is still in mid-air. The burning embers of rage that are Sun's eyes remain fixated on the idiot who dared kick him as he reaches for the leg.

Nobu sees the look and the spirit of man about to zap him and decides his energy is best spent running. He steps away in time to avoid a dwarf grabbing and bolts for the door.

The spirit, still under orders, follows after the fleeing men, presumably throwing lightning bolts out in the street. Meanwhile Kitaro begins to lift Emiko and Sam up. The doors burst open and several armed men with Tasukeichi uniforms arrive. They see Sam floating and glance at one of the men who then points to Kitaro. The others point their guns at Kitaro and say, "Place him gently on the ground or you are about to have a bad day."

Kitaro throws his hands in the air.
The cyberdecks he was holding fall clattering to the ground.

"Ho there chummers! I'm just trying to help! These people need urgent medical assistence."

Kitaro starts to slowly lower Sam and Emiko to the ground and points at Emiko.

"Especially this one. I think I managed to stop the bleeding but she's hurt pretty bad."

Looking back around to the newcomers, Sun notices they're not actually trying to cause harm to Sam or Kintaro. They seem to give off a different vibe than the four thugs. The rage in his eyes subsides as he leans over for a moment, groaning as the pain catches up to him. He ignores the newcomers for now, as he considers them no threat, and starts searching the body of Four for any information about who they are, what their task is, or anything else that may be useful, along with inspecting the tattoos.

Once Sam is on the ground, two of the men prepare a stretcher and carry him out to an armored ambulance. One says to Kitaro, "We will take good care of him. She is not a registered Tasukeichi member. I am sure the coroner will pick her up shortly."

On the inside Kitaro's heart starts pounding, fearing for Emiko's life.
On the outside he remains perfectly calm however.
He takes a credstick out of his pocket and begins fidgeting with it.

"So miss Amaterasu is not a registered member yet? How long does the registering procedure normally take?"

The Tasukeichi member says, "Not long at all once the fee is paid. Tissue samples can be taken during treatment and her other vital information can be taken when or if she is revived. I wouldn't hold my breath though. Not a whole lot of people come back from throat slashes."

Kitaro puts his hand on the man's shoulder.

"Well I guess we have no time to loose then do we, how about you order your men to start helping her and we quickly handle the payment details."

The Tasukeichi man says, "500 nuyen should cover the initial processing fee and first month of service. Without payment, we are unauthorized to take her."


Meanwhile Sun searches the bodies of two and four. They are both breathing, just unconscious, though four will need some patching up to avoid dying from his wounds. Without stripping them to make sure, the tattoos seem like they are the type of full body tattoos that most Yakuza have and the reason why tattoos in general carry a very heavy stigma in society. Beyond that, they are wearing simple armored business suits. Two has nunchaku and Four has a hatchet. They each have mid level commlinks, though Four's is glitching a bit after the electric shock he received. They don't appear to have any other belongings on them.

Kitaro doesn't waste any time and quickly pays the 500 Nuyen to get Emiko the help she needs.

The man nods and says to the others, "Looks like we have another customer over here in critical condition. Lets get her out of here and hope it's not too late for her."

They get a stretcher for Emiko and haul her out with Sam. Soon they are all in an armored ambulance and on their way to the nearest medical facility, leaving Sun and Kitaro behind with the unconscious Yakuza.
