3B - One flew over the cuckoo hut

There is a slight delay between the frog and Sam's movements as Wujen hears the thoughts and then has to react and move the illusion to match, but he manages to make it as smooth as possible.

Amused, WuJen regrets not making an illusionary goblin for Sam to control. It is mildly surreal to have what amounts to AR in realspace via illusion. WuJen makes a note for later, this might be useful for teaching some concepts at the community center.

With Ichigo lacking any current method of treating the goblin, it seems either the means will have to be sought elsewhere or another approach will have to be taken.

((Sam has some amount of medical skill, and I'm pretty sure he walked through that room with all the potions and such where Ichigo looked for components for the ghoul cure... Let's give this a try:))
Memory test to see if Sam remembers seeing anything in the room that could be helpful in curing the flu, or in at least curing the symptoms.

Sam remembers seeing a whole bunch of unlabeled potions in the alchemy lab. The lack of labeling unfortunately means it will be a random guess as to what any given potion might do. Still, one might work.

"Sorry guys I just wasn't prepared for this im not going to be able to help him"

"Well," Sam says. "Is the current plan to just stand here and wait for this goblin to get better on his own? That could take a while. And, are we even sure that talking to him will be worth the wait?

There was a room with potions. But they were all unlabeled. So I could not tell if any of them would be helpful.

Maybe we can find him a bowl of chicken soup from the kitchen. We do not need to cure him of the goblin flu. We only need to alleviate his symptoms enough to talk with him."

"We are taking a shot in the dark. I have no idea if talking to the hut will get us anything, but it seems safer than talking to Baba Yaga and asking politely to be let out.

Since this guy apparently feeds the hut, he's our best shot at finding anything out about the hut."

" If all else fails I can probe his mind and hope for something useful. I was rather hoping to just ask him though."

Scratching his chin, Sun remembers a scene in Legend of Hei Jin. If it worked in there, surely it must work here as well. He grabs the nearest thing he can find that can act as a pendulum, even if it's just a piece of string, and walks over to the goblin. Having the thing swing left and right in front of the goblin, he tries his most soothing, calming voice.

"Watch the pendulum. Follow it with your eyes. Listen to my voice. It's most calming and soothing. You are getting sleeeeepy. Sooooo very sleeeeeeeepy. You can't keep your eyes ooooooopen."

He keeps this up til he thinks the goblin has dozed off. He then continues. "When I snap my fingers, you will wake up again and be cured. You will no longer have the flu or any other illness." A quick snap of his fingers later, Sun looks hopeful at the goblin.

Illusion Sam peeks his head around the corner of the door, testing to see if illusion Sam's senses work where frog Sam and WuJen can't do the sensing for it.

Given that the goblin is currently sleeping, it takes very little effort to put him to sleep. Sun is a hypnosis master. Or at least half of a master. The snap does nothing to awaken him.

The illusion seems to more or less stay where Sam is. It has no senses, at least none that Sam has access to. Everything Sam sees and hears is from the perspective of his froggy body.

Disappointed, illusion Sam turns to come back into the room. Then, he changes his mind. He sits cross legged on the floor, and begins to levitate. Then, he floats back into the room with the others.

"What is a list of our current options?" He asks, rhetorically.
"1) Sun can try shaking him awake.
2) Sun can yell at him, 'encouragingly,'" illusion Sam makes air quotes "to wake up and be healthy.
3) WuJen can try to read his mind.
4) We can go to the kitchen and see if we can find him some chicken soup.
5) We can go back to the potion room and try to identify some of the potions.
6) We can give up on the goblin and continue wandering the hut blindly until Baba Yaga turns the rest of you into frogs.
Have I missed anything?"

"Baba Yaga could eat us, apparently."

Wujen calls Little Dragon to him and casts Mind Probe at force 6 14 dice to cast, 11 to soak) on the unconscious goblin.

"She might eat us," Sam agrees. "She also had a talking spider that she seems to listen to advice from. If you are not able to talk to the hut, the spider might be another thing to try."

Wujen tries to probe the goblin's mind but finds it surprisingly hard. His first attempt is completely repelled, but his second is much more successful. The first thoughts he gains are the goblin's fever induced dreams, which are chaotic and impossible to understand. Diving deeper, he looks for any information on feeding the hut. A few memories surface, though they are fuzzy and unclear as the fever seems to be making it hard for the goblin to think straight.

The first is of the goblin harvesting corn from the garden along with the help of another goblin, apparently named "Gunk". The garden appears to be outside, well maintained and fairly vast, yet there are doors standing in open space.

The second memory is of the goblins removing massive amounts of corn from the cob and collecting it in large sacks.

The third memory is of the goblin dumping these sacks in front of the hut and the hut eating it.

None of it makes sense as, if the memories are to be believed, the food is grown inside the hut, taken outside, then fed through the entrance, thereby putting it back inside again. It's hard to tell if the memories are distorted because of his fever or if the hut just really is that weird.

"Ok, so from what I can gather the garden is where the corn grows and appears to be outside. At the very least this goblin seems to know a way out, as he feeds the hut from outside. His memories are a little confusing. At the least the garden is large and is perhaps a better place for us to gather than these interior rooms."

A quick look at the map reveals that the garden is connected to this room. It takes a moment to open the door a few times to reveal it. The first thing you notice when you open the door is sunlight. Tons of it. Looking up and around, you find that you are outside somehow. However, you do not see the skull fence or thorn brush that surrounds the hut. Instead, you see a lush garden filled with every fruit, vegetable or herb you could possibly imagine, though a sizable portion appears to be devoted to corn.

The door you come through appears to just be standing upright in open space, with a hedge growing over the top. There are 2 other matching doors in the garden. A gentle stream runs through the area, providing a source of water for all of the plants. It branches off at one point then rejoins itself forming a small island with wooden bridge accessing it. Upon the island is a single tree about 5 ft tall with a single, red, pear-shaped fruit hanging from it.

The one thing that is impossible to ignore is the sizable pile of manure heaped in one corner of the garden. Several shovels are thrust inside.

A goblin in a bee keeper's outfit is currently in one corner, harvesting some honey.

Illusion Sam floats over to the goblin.
"Do you have a puzzle for us to solve?"

The goblin looks up at Sam, somewhat surprised that he isn't bothered by the bees. He glances at the rest of you, shrugs and says, "Not really. But if you want to help shovel manure, I would greatly appreciate it," as he points to the giant pile of smelly manure.

"I'll even give you something super special for your trouble," he adds.

"This sounds like a job for corporeal people," Sam says. He floats over to the tree and up to the peach to examine it. He's mildly disappointed when he gets up there and realizes his illusion still has no sense of its own.
((What kind of frog is Sam? Is he the type that jumps and sticks on things? Such that he may be able to climb a tree?"))
