Setting up home base

Sun looks over at Torpor: "So what was that about some spider lady or such that suddenly disappeared?"

Torpor covers the elevator while Wujen unlocks it, "There was this younger woman with eight spider legs fangs and such, she jumped me and Ichigo at the top of the elevator, and I think it was out friend that we have been talking to under the elevator and I think she fled."

"Maybe we'd want to be cautious when releasing that girl then. I'd rather not get webbed in the face when reaching out a helping hand." He turns to Chougou ((if he's still in the same space)) "Can you check to see if that girl is still below the elevator, and maybe take a picture of her? Torpor can identify her, see if she's the spider lady he fought."

"We have to partially open the door to let the drone in, and unless I'm wrong she is gone. Wujen, can you project and see if she is still in there perhaps?"

You guys manage to pry the elevator doors open and call out to the woman. There is no response. The service hatch on the roof of the elevator is open.

Chougou's tiny eyeball drones are currently unable to explore the other floors as the doors are closed and the drones themselves don't have the capability to open them.

"ok, we have the second floor to finish, and the third floor to start. Also may want to ask of the ghouls if there is anything else on the first floor, just in case. Also if they need to feed soon, or like right now, and if the spiders would help, we have at least 2 dog sized spiders."

Pointing at the ghouls, Sun says: "They're right there, you know. You can let them know yourself."

Torpor clears his throat,"Excuse me, but do you have a name? You there in the office." And says a little loudly through the office door.

The voice replies, "Ando. Ando Takihara."

"Thank you Ando, are you the only ones on this level? And do you have any idea about any of the other levels at all?"

The voice rasps, "We have eaten anyone else that was on this level. We said to the other one that we did not have the clearance for the other floors. We do not know what is on them."

"Again, thank you Ando. We have help for you, but we need to finish cleaning the rest of the building first. If you find you or yours need to feed soon, we have two dog sized spiders that we can bring you."

Ando says, "The flesh of animals does not sustain us. We would immediately grow ill from feasting upon it. Appreciation is had for the thought."

"Very well, thank you for the information. Let's finish the second floor then." He says to the others as he heads for the second floor, "don't forget to close the elevator door for now.

Sun hobbles up behind Torpor, his staff at the ready.

As the door is not currently locked, Torpor opens it up and can smell the heavy scent of char. The room has significant fire damage, but nothing that can't be repaired as most of it is cosmetic. As you go from door to door, you find no other spiders. One room does have several cages with maglocks that apparently have been opened. The mummified corpses of six researchers are found webbed to a wall in another room, looks of terror permanently affixed to their faces.

Turning around, back towards the researcher, Sun inspects the room, top to bottom, corner to corner.

Sun examines the room from top to bottom and is confident there is nothing else of importance in the room.

"Looks like this room is safe. Let's get these poor folks down."

Torpor searches the bodies as he lets them down one at a time, for anything of interest, cyber, pockets, gear, etc.
"We should either get a couple of these cages down or put the remaining spiders in the them. Ichigo has restraints we can use to secure the doors again.

The cages are stacked 3 high and appear to be fastened to the wall. Some tools would be required to get them down and disengage the wiring (unless you want to try tearing them out of the wall with force), but it wouldn't be a very difficult job. There are a total of 12 cages that look about the size for these spiders. There is also a 13th one that looks big enough to house a person.

A search of the bodies reveals security passes which probably would have been used for the elevator as well as the spider's cages. There is currently no power to the cages though, so the maglocks on them are not functioning. The doors appear to be "fail secure" meaning that when power is unavailable, they default to being locked. They are all currently open, which suggests their locks were disengaged while the power was still on, but should the doors be closed they would remain locked until power is restored and an appropriate key is used.

The security passes each have a picture and name, presumably of the victims, though it is hard to tell with this level of desiccation. There is also a logo on the passes for Ankev Industries. One of the researchers notably is missing her security pass. Beyond that, none of the researchers appear to have any personal belongings, including commlinks.

Torpor takes the passes and says,"we can put the spiders back in their cages, they will lock and we can get them out once we have power and somewhere to send them."

Torpor double checks the normal places for headware, chipjacks, skilljacks, etc on the bodies.

The bodies do not appear to have any external signs of cyberware or artificial modification.

"Let's lock up the spiders in their cages before we go to the 3rd floor. We don't want them surprising us from behind."
