Lifestyle Rules

As part of purchasing a lifestyle, you are expected to have things that are in keeping with the lifestyle. It doesn't make sense for someone who is living a luxury lifestyle to be unable to afford dinner, for example. To game mechanic this, each lifestyle has certain things that one is automatically assumed to have as part of that lifestyle and thus does not need to worry about purchasing. Consult the table below to see what kinds of benefits you get from your lifestyle.

Street	The good news is your lifestyle is free. The bad news is that everything else is going to cost you. The poor tax is real and you pay it more than everyone else. You are hungry most of the time unless you pay money for food or mooch some off of your friends. That means daily Survival+Willpower [mental] tests as described on page 136-7 of the core rulebook. Lack of home means you rarely get proper sleep so treat yourself as having the 10 karma insomnia negative quality as long as you live this lifestyle. Living out of cardboard boxes also means your personal security is lacking. If you own anything worth more than 5,000 nuyen, make an intuition+perception (2) check once per month. Failure means someone stole something while you were sleeping while a tie means you caught someone in the act of stealing your stuff. Those with obvious cyberware may awaken to find their cyberarm has been removed while they are sleeping...
Squatter	You at least have a home and probably won't go hungry so long as you eat at home. Other than that, you have to pay for everything, which adds up quickly for a shadowrunner. You can get some proper sleep, but there is still the chance of someone stealing your stuff since you probably don't have a lock on the door.
Low	You have a legal home, even if it is kind of drek. Public transportation is covered by this lifestyle, so long as you are taking the local cheap stuff like the bus or train as you are probably have a monthly pass. A taxi will cost you money. You can eat out at cheap places as part of your lifestyle, but anything more expensive than the 5 nuyen noodle shop is going to cost you money. You at least have a lock on the door, so you no longer have to worry about thieves.
Medium	You are generally comfortable at this point. Eating out at reasonably priced places costs you nothing, nor does most local public transport, including taxis. You have about 25 nuyen per day that you can spend on whatever minor gear/bribes/expenses isn't otherwise covered by the lifestyle. This is a non cumulative credit so you can't save it up multiple days to cover larger purchases. You either use it or ignore it.
High	You are mildly wealthy. Your home has a decent security system and food/travel expenses are not a worry except for the most exclusive/decadent of places. There is probably a cleaning person who comes once a week or so to keep your place in order, and if you have kids or other dependents, you probably have a shadowrunner nanny on dial to take care of them when work calls (covered by this lifestyle). You don't have to pay for air travel (provided you are fine riding in coach) and you have a wardrobe of nice clothes, even if you don't wear them all the time. Your daily nuyen credit goes up to 100.
Luxury	You are stupidly stinking rich. You live in a really nice place with top of the line security (at least for consumers). You probably have full time servants, perhaps even a personal limo service to drive you around town. Mundane purchases for food and transportation, even first class tickets or decadent dinners at 5 star restaurants, are never a concern. A lot of gear that other shadowrunners would have to search for, you can just purchase on impulse. Treat the all gear has having an availability of 6 less for you since people tend to bend over backward to get you what you want. Also your daily nuyen credit is now 1,000.
