    Combat turn 3, last pass

    Little Dragon creeps further into the hotel, sticking close to the walls as she goes in search of the last biker. Peeking through the hole in wall, she sees the speaker hastily reloading another drum of ammo to his shotgun from inside the garage. She takes her shot, sending a stream of flame in his direction, but he dodges aside, taking cover behind the entrance to the room and firing off another round of fire at Little Dragon. The wall she is taking cover behind erupts and she is tagged by a burst of shotgun fire. The damage she takes is substantial, but just short of lethal. She begins to panic, knowing that another shot like that will send her away for another month and just one shot like that could send Wujen away forever.

    Sensing her panick through their link, WuJen explains in his head about the limited range of weapons and why getting really high is almost as good as getting behind something solid, and admonishes her to stay out of the physical world and to just keep an eye on him for the time being until he is distracted and not interested in shooting at her.

    Over comms he explains where the man is hiding while Little Dragon keeps an eye on him, and continues climbing into the air as fast as he can manage, getting a spectacular aerial view of the area.

    Kin has the speaker in his sights, begins to squeeze the trigger and suddenly, he sees the biker sprint forward into the garage containing Cannis' motorcycle.

    Kin rises, straps his Raiden over his shoulder, and jumps down off of his garage in the same area he climbed up.

    Once on the ground he pulls out his Predator from the holster, peeks around the corner and attempts to run into the garage that is in the middle of this block of rooms, keeping his pistol pointed forward.

    When Sun sees the ganger run into the building, he rushes after him. Focusing on whatever sounds he can pick up, he tries to locate where underneath him the ganger is, then hits the roof, sending a block of construction material down to the ganger below.

    Combat turn 4, pass 1

    The biker takes cover for a moment, disappearing from view. What he is doing is anyone's guess.

    Meanwhile Sun decides that the best offense is a big dump of roof debris. He punches through the ceiling roughly where he heard the last gunfire go off. A slurry of water and assorted building materials rain down into the garage and land on the biker. He coughs and chokes, but does not appear particularly worse for wear. ((he resisted damage, but he'll get a -2 for actions on his next pass))

    With no line of sight, Kin scrambles down from the roof and makes his way towards the garage at a brisk pace. Switching his guns, he peeks around the corner to see the ceiling erupt above the biker. He is coughing and distracted by it and it seems like an excellent moment to shoot. However, before he gets the chance to he hears a beeping sound as the turret on one of the bikes turns towards him. There is a sinking in his stomach as he realizes the turret has locked onto him and is about to fire!

    High above the scene, Wujen can make out distant sirens approaching in the hotel's general direction. It would be a surprise if they were on call for anything other than this disaster. By his estimation, they should arrive at the scene in under 5 minutes.

    Down in the hotel room, Little Dragon takes the opportunity to fade back into the astral plane to avoid further injury and perhaps heal her wounds.

    Kin's eyes widen as the machine gun on the turret rotates toward him. He moves one garage closer to the action, flattens himself against the wall and extends the pistol out just far enough to locate the gun in his camera, squeezes off a shot to try to disable the gun and pulls the gun back to the safety of the garage.

    Combat turn 4, pass 2

    With all the debris on his face, the speaker points his shotgun up at Sun and blasts him! Sun dodges the majority of the blast, thanks to in part to the cover provided by the roof and his quick reflexes, however he isn't quite quick enough and eats an explosive shell in the gut. The round blasts through his armor, only this time the gore isn't just for show, it is quite real. ((10P damage))

    Sun chokes on his own blood as he thrusts the staff down at the speaker, the shotgun blast throwing him off his otherwise well placed aim. Still, despite the setback, the staff manages to strike true, knocking the speaker off his feet and on the ground, apparently unconscious.

    Outside, Kin manages to shoot the turret a moment before it opens fire. He ducks back behind the garage wall, wincing as he expects bullets to start tearing through his cover. When that never happens, he peeks out and notices that the turret has been destroyed.

    Kin rushes out toward Cannis, pistol at the ready as he does this. Noticing that only one turret swiveled his way initially, he feels pretty confident that no others are set up to track him or the rest of his group.

    He puts out what fire remains on Cannis' body and does a quick, cursory search of the bodies for anything useful. Sensing the sirens getting louder, he yells up to WuJen:


    "WuJen, check on Sun. I'm going to bring the Westwind over and see if I can load Cannis in. I may need a hand."

    Kin takes a look at Cannis' body and what he sees is not encouraging. Cannis is missing chunks of flesh, and what happens to be there is charred. He is either dead, or soon will be. His only hope is a hospital and soon. Sun is only looking marginally better, having taken a severe pounding as well. He was luckily in a position to avoid some of the damage so he is still standing, but he could use a proper doctor as well.

    Among the bikers is quite a lot that can be useful. Weaponry, cyberware and the bikes themselves. However, judging by what happened the last time the group took one of the bikers with them, it seems that doing that again would be a bad idea, particularly given the current state of the group.

    Wujen meanwhile assenses the lead biker. He appears quite battered but alive. As far as he can tell, the biker isn't faking unconsciousness.

    The sounds of sirens quickly approach.

    Not finding anything of value to take worth risking another biker uprising, Kin runs over, hops in the Westwind and pulls it alongside Cannis, attempting to get the injured comrade in the passenger seat of his car, hoping to keep blood off his leather seats.

    He realizes that Cannis' life hangs in the balance and either needs to get him to a hospital or someplace where they can at least provide first aid to stabilize him, but knowing that they have to get out of the love hotel parking lot before anyone arrives on scene.

    Cannis is loaded into the car. unfortunately for Sun and Wujen, the pair is left without wheels for a quick exit. Kin's gridguide system displays the nearest hospital. He need only touch it on the screen to be transported there.

    Still a bit woozy from the heavy hit, Sun gets up and dusts himself off. He's learned now that shotguns pack more punch than grenades. He quickly, but unsteadily gets down from the roof and starts looking for a way for the rest of the team and himself to get out of there, being careful enough not to spend more time on it than strictly needed. Everyone still has working legs, after all, and those sirens aren't exactly getting further away.

    Feeling the press of time, WuJen forgoes any more attempts at getting information from the fallen bikers.

    He helps load Cannis into the Westwind and then Summons Earth to help with Sun. It takes a brief discussion, but Earth finally agrees to manifest as a thin stone platform for Sun to rest on and carry things for as long as may be needed or morning, which ever comes first.

    Checking the area quickly to be sure nothing of theirs is left behind, WuJen steps into the platform with Sun and mentally commands the Spirit into the air to find medical supplies and new lodgings.

    Kin looks at the nearest hospital displaying on his GridGuide. He needs to leave the premises as quickly as possible, not only to get treatment for Cannis, but avoid the cops. He presses the hospital on screen to get directions and begins his journey, making sure that his Raiden is tucked out of sight and covered. He lets WuJen know his destination.

    I really need to invest in a storage compartment for that gun.

    By the time the police arrive, everyone has left the scene. Though you've done nothing wrong, the police tend to be overzealous, particularly amidst something like the warzone that your group left behind. In the very least it's best to not have to deal with the hassle of police questioning. With one of your number possibly dead and another severely wounded, you did not leave unscathed. But the bikers have lost hopefully around half their members. Things don't look good for the man, but if he is going to survive the night, it's going to require expert assistance. Cannis is immediately taken to an emergency room where measures are taken to revive him.

    Things are touch and go, but by morning, Cannis patched up enough to regain consciousness. His whole body is awash in pain and once a nurse notices him awake, she informs a doctor who comes in to check on Cannis. "Good morning," the doctor says, "Things were touch and go last night. The good news is you are alive. The bad news you are only barely alive and will require extensive surgery to patch you up. Both extensive and expensive surgery."

    Cannis looks around and finds he is hooked up to various life support machines, without which he probably won't survive long enough to leave the room. "Before we discuss how we can fix you, however," the doctor continues, "We must discuss the cost..."

    The doctor pauses a moment to look over a screen in his hands before saying, "130,000 nuyen..."

    He holds the tablet in front of Cannis to review the list of fees and procedures as he is currently too weak to lift his arms to hold the tablet himself. The fees include:

    Resuscitation - 1,000 nuyen
    Intensive care (3 days) - 3,000 nuyen
    Replacement Orthoskin - 36,000 nuyen
    Sythacardium heart repair - 90,000 nuyen
    Total: 130,000 nuyen

    Once Cannis has had time to look over the costs, the doctor says, "Your chart says that you are magically awakened. The procedures will hinder your abilities slightly, but we will do our best to be as minimally invasive as possible. If you do not have the funds to pay for the fees, you are free to die and we will only bill your next of kin for the costs of your initial resuscitation as a courtesy to you. If you choose to be an organ donor as part of your death plan, we will waive that resuscitation fee as well. Alternately, you can enroll in a payment plan to pay it off in installments. The choice is completely up to you. Do you have any questions or concerns about anything I've said so far?"

    Directing the Spirit to carry them further up into the more civilized portion of the city, WuJen searches the Matrix for a good medical supply store to stock up, as it seems their current job is going to take a significant toll. Lead poisoning is rough.

    Once he finds one, he has the spirit take him nearby and directs it to avoid any police drones or other airborne traffic, and asks Little Dragon to stay with Sun with instructions to let him know if any unforeseen problems arise. Leaving them up high to avoid prying eyes and uncomfortable questions, WuJen flies down on his Movement enhanced Levitation spell to browse the stores wares.

    Knowing that Sun was suffering with his wounds, WuJen browses somewhat quickly, loading both a Large and regular Medkit into a cart, then he adds a trauma patch and 2 of the stim patches, a pack of the disposable hand wipes and lastly a six pack of energy drinks and handful of gum and candy.

    He pays his 2970 and leaves the store, flying back to the floating spirit platform to search for another Love Hotel.

    Arriving back on his spirit platform WuJen tells Sun "Ok, I've got some medical supplies, and I can work on those wounds myself, but it is probably better if you know of a doctor we can visit. Ichigo would be ideal but he's busy at the moment at the Cowboy HQ, and we should probably avoid that for now."

    To Kin he replies "You happen to know a Street Doc? I can get Sun up and running, but this is an awfully big hole to be patching as an amateur."

    "WuJen. How's Sun doing? I was so busy getting Cannis to the hospital, I didn't have time to think about Sun.

    I left Cannis in the emergency room a bit ago. Not sure how he's doing but, hopefully better than when I left."

    "I don't know of any Street Docs, sorry. Any luck with another place to hole up?"
