The girl that Sato ends up hitting on has less mods than most and her deck is clearly a lower end model than a lot of the fancy things you see people carrying around. She is fairly nervous around Sato but eventually agrees to follow him into the simsense area.

If there's a way to tell which rooms are occupied, he acts inebriated and stumbles into the one furthest from the door, looking for the one with Akane.

((Okay... So, I looked it up. Running silent is just a simple action to do. Logic+Sleaze is the rest to resist being found once running silent. And it should get a -2 pool modifier for running silent. I think that's what you guys were getting at. There's a Hide action that you use when you're running silent and you're spotted... Not sure if that's relevant yet, but I'll roll both with -2 modifiers for running silent))

Sam manages to toss a pair of game logos onto the node, allowing him access to the room's controls. He is able to open/close the door, see a user list of the room's occupants, and change the settings to the current simsense session. He could also send his avatar in there to join in on whatever is going on if he wants.
A quick look at the rooms info shows that it has 4 occupants whose screen names are: SanrioBoi, TheRealGoku, Akachan and MasterOfTheNight. The current simsense setting is: Public Train.

((I'm not sure exactly how a simsense room would work... Is there a way I could make them think that Sato is part of the experience? Probably not, right? Because they're probably in VR? So I likely couldn't mix meat stuff in to their VR. But maybe Sam could go in to the VR train, disguised as Jeeves, and we could reverse this Cyrano de Bergerac plan!))

Simsense is also used in other ways such as video games, simulations of movie scenes (where you become part of the action) and feedback from various devices, such as the smartlink in a smartgun.
Normally there are legally enforced limits to the sensory input so that you can tell what is real and what is not. These limits are both in the simulations themselves, as well as the hardware used to run them. Some people of course bypass these limits. On the hardware side, you are basically doing this when you run hot sim on your deck. On the software side they have what are called Better-Than-Life recordings (BTLs). When you are fully immersed in a BTL it is, as the name suggests, more real than real life. It is extremely addicting and while you can't "overdose" like with traditional drugs, burnout users end up refusing to leave their digital worlds and pass away because they forget to take care of their bodily needs.
