Assuming this is just some guy, well, it looks like Sato really screwed the pooch on this one.

Sam messages Oakgu:
"Hey, big guy. Well, our sneaky plan never actually materialized as anything that an outsider might refer to as a plan. So, keep an eye on the door to the simsense rooms. Akane should be exiting shortly, I think. Just, uh. Grab her? I guess? I guess we're going with the just grab her plan now."

Sam does a quick analysis of the man's icon and quickly sees that it is not Aka-chan. The woman who is also in the room and hasn't left yet, is. Within moments, the automated security enters the room's matrix space. A pair of black rings, a pair of black cones and a single eyeball appear within the white empty room. While neither Sato nor Sam know what the five icons actually do, they are clearly IC sent by the system to take care of intruders until the security decker(s) can get here.

Round 2, pass 1

The rings immediately converge on Sato and he soon finds himself bound in several rings. ((he's link-locked and has 3 marks, which means he can't switch modes and needs to make a check to jack out unless someone physically pulls the plug on him. The only way to remove the link-lock is to destroy the IC currently causing it))

Meanwhile Sam quietly makes his way into Akane's icon. He succeeds brilliantly, and realizes it is because her deck is a pretty low end system (device rating 2). She has 7 different pieces of cyberware connected to her PAN, including a datajack, chipjack, simrig, skillwires, cybereyes, fiberoptic hair, a pair of breasts, and "cyber genitals". The first four are fairly obvious as to what it is they actually do, at least in a general sense, though he will have to examine their systems if he wants to get more specifics. The other three are modifications Sam is less familiar with and would have to open up their systems to see what precise functions they have. ((No check needed to do it, but it takes a simple action per system you want to get specs on))

Meanwhile the eyeball scans Sato's icon and the pair of cones stab into him, sending biofeedback through his commlink and into his body. As the IC is designed for experienced hackers and Sato is anything but, Sato really stands no chance against their attacks. He is quickly knocked unconscious by the cones which then go into standby mode. ((10S, with 2P worth of overflow))

((Okay... So, my goal in hacking Akane is to try to get some marks on her so I can trace her physical location later. So, there's a matrix action Trace, but that will just tell me that she's in the room that we already know she's in. I want to be able to trace her sometime in the future, after we've hopefully gotten out of this mess. I think what Sam would likely do is put some sort of virus onto her deck that he could access and trace later. There doesn't seem to be a skill for that, so I'm going to roll an edit file check to try to put a file on her deck that Sam could later trace back to a physical location))

((yeah, trace won't work as you know her current physical location, and that's all it will give you. Marks that you put on her deck will go away if either you reboot or she does, so it's not a very good way to follow someone at some indeterminate period in the future.

I am going to say you are putting a data bomb on her (effectively a trojan horse), but instead of it dealing damage when it goes off, it puts 2 marks on her and runs a trace, as per the trace icon action. You'll have to wait for her to set it off, but otherwise it will attempt to give you her location one time, lasting until she reboots her deck or removes the marks. For it's trace attempt, it will roll rating x 2 dice, so since you got 6 successes, I'll assume it is a rating 6 and when it goes off, you'll get a ping on your deck or commlink))

Round 2, Pass 2

The IC, currently unaware of Sam's presence, remain in standby, though there is a scan currently being conducted to find any other illegal users. Given that he hasn't been attacked yet, Sam assumes he is not found as he places a custom databomb into Akane's system.

Alright. Sam is going to jack out and leave the club. It doesn't seem like there's anything he can do to particularly hello Sato right now. Sato probably will be able to talk/bribe his way out of this. Hopefully we can get a trace on Akane in a less public location and give this another, hopefully more competent, try.

Sam jacks out of the matrix and walks out to the main dance area. Oakgu is standing near the bar apparently chatting to a man dressed as a butler whose skin is completely chrome from head to toe. Tetsu is presumably still waiting outside.

Sam gets back out to the alley as quickly as possible.

Sam arrives at the alley outside. Tetsu is not there. Then Sam remembers something about a message involving going off to follow a possible lead.

Sam sends a message to Tetsu and Oakgu:
"Well, that didn't go great. Club IC is watching over Sato's unconscious body. I think he'll be able to talk his way out of this. But, if not, he might need some help in the simsense rooms. I put a tracker data bomb on Akane's deck, so hopefully we can track her to somewhere less public and try this again."

((@Sato - Yeah, sorry about that. I was beginning to feel bad about the others sitting around twiddling their thumbs for a couple of weeks with things looking like they were going to go much longer, so decided to move things forward a bit. Also never threw IC at a non-decker before and kind of underestimated their strength.))

Sato is forcibly disconnected from the matrix, giving him his first (and hopefully last) experience with dump shock. His head spins and blood runs down his nose from the massive amount of biofeedback. It isn't lethal, but he is having a hard time thinking straight and will probably need a couple of days to recover. ((3P of overflow damage and -2 to dice pools for 7 minutes, in addition to wound modifiers))

Once security sees the sub-par commlink that Sato was connected through and his fake data jack, they decide that his slip through security was due to a glitch in the system and throw him out of the club rather than calling the police on him.

Sam is outside by himself when Sato is escorted out to the alley. Sato clearly looks out of it, though not physically mistreated. Oakgu is still in the club and there is no response over the commlink from Tetsu.

(Sorry, connectivity issues) "Guys, what the hell happened?" Nobunaka discreetly says via comms after seeing security carrying out Sato.

"Apparently subterfuge is out the door, should've done it my way" he says with a hint of 'a matter of fact' in his voice.

"I can try my charm.. Maybe she likes bigger men, heh.." suggests Nobunaka as he pays for his drink and pushes away from the bar.

((GM, is Akane on the main floor now and has the tension died down yet?))

Inside the club, Sato's apprehension was pretty quiet, so his removal from the club did nothing to disturb the scene within. The only reason Nobunaka knows anything happened is because he knows Sato and received Sam's message. The other club-goers have no idea there was a disturbance at all.

Akane eventually emerges from the back room and sits down at a booth, clearly pissed off by the interruption.

((So, GM since we are the only ones in here, this should provide some learning curve for me.))

Nobunaka turns around and buys an expensive, tasteful drink for Akane and also whatever drink he was drinking earlier. After procuring said drinks, he casually walks over to Akane's table and says, "This seat taken? You look like you could use this" and proceeds to put the drink down in front of her.

It seems pretty likely that Akane would not have rebooted her deck. If not, and he still has access, Sam rifles through her contacts. I'm sure this needs a check. Matrix perception? Matrix search?

((@Nobunaka - Don't worry. Just do what makes sense for your character. Worst that happens is you fail to get anything useful and you guys have to try something different. Not the end of the world.)) Inside the bar, Akane shifts her gaze at Nobunaka and says, "I have needs at the moment, but a drink is not one of them. No offense, but I am not in the mood for random guys offering drinks. Is there something specific you have to offer me?"

((@Sam - Since you have guest access to the club for the night, the club's host isn't blocking you from entry. Otherwise you would have to go into the building to access anyone whose commlink/deck/rcc was in the club, or hack into the system to enter the host. Luckily you don't have to do that. You can either download her contacts lists with an Edit File action (Computer + Logic [Data Processing]) or search for a specific entry with Matrix Perception (Computer + Intuition [Data Processing]) ))
