and I'm afraid to even think about the die roller at this point unless it's necessary.

Oh hey, you were talking about it here. Yeah the commlinks can't reach the city, but can reach each other within a short area. So farm group can talk to each other, but they can't reach Kingfisher. I am assuming she just projects since it takes less than a minute in astral speed and Wujen is currently perceiving, so he just relays the message.

Torpor has the adept power, I don't think Sun does. So he should be able to benefit. Might wanna edge up that cast, given your luck with it

Yeah, I just double checked. Sun doesn't have any kind of reaction enhancement.

Also, FYI, Sun only has 1 edge remaining, so he can't use 2 points.

Ok... not sure where and when to use Edge to improve a roll, and I only have one in any case.

Whenever you really want the roll to succeed. Though it is usually a good idea to keep 1 in reserve for this game's version of the hand of god rule in case you get yourself killed.

Oh and if you happen to critically fail at something without using edge to mitigate it, you can regain edge that way if you aren't maxed out already. I have a feeling you could benefit from that

Re: Where is everyone going?
I usually preview my posts to make sure I have the formatting right and such...
The preview showed 9 hits and no misses on the sorcery roll. That would have been awesome.
Only showed 6 hits and a miss on the drain roll. Seriously.
Dice hate me.

Re: Where is everyone going?
Still not horrible. That's what +3 +1d6 right? And you got more successes on the drain, so no drain damage? Or is that based solely on power

Re: Where is everyone going?
I guess yes, though I'm not sure how to factor edge into the roll. I spent it, but the 11 dice is just my normal roll with a wound penalty

Re: Where is everyone going?
The number of hits determines if it is physical or stun damage (though if you keep the force at your magic score and don't use reagents, it will always be stun). The amount of drain is dependent on the force and the specific spell, though it is always at least 2. The drain on increase reflexes is equal to the force of the spell with no modifier, so 6 stun for this particular casting. Thus he will be taking 2 stun from the drain.
As for the effect, yes, with 3 hits, you get 3 reflexes and +1d6 initiative, which isn't bad.
As for using edge, there are 2 ways to use your edge. You can either add your edge to the roll, in which case you reroll any 6's for extra successes. This is best if you have a good edge score, which Wujen does not. The second way is to use it after the roll to reroll all the dice that you failed with. This is best when you have a small edge pool and/or lots of failed dice, which Wujen does.
In this specific circumstance, if you went with option 1, you would reroll those 6's and if they got hits you'd count them, and if they were 6's you'd reroll those as well. Plus you would have added your one edge to the pool as well. So right now, you would roll 4 dice and rule of six them.
If you went with option 2, you'd take the 8 dice that failed and roll them again, hoping for some more hits, but no rule of six. Personally I would go with this second option as you are more likely to get more hits, but you are free to do whichever you prefer.

Re: Where is everyone going?
Well damn. That one was pretty good
So that's a total of +9 reaction and 3d6 to init?
And did I just die to drain. LOL

Re: Where is everyone going?
Your drain is unaffected, you still take 2 stun
Also the force still limits the roll (unless you use reagents) so it maxes out at +6 reaction +3d6 initiative dice. Still, that brings him to a fairly impressive 16+4d6 initiative

Re: Where is everyone going?
Wouldn't that be +9 innit with +4d6 ? You can get 5d6 max anyway but every 2 his is plus 1d6.
O right it caps based on your magic

If the force was higher or reagents were used to up the limit to 9, then yes. You are correct.

Can you die from stun damage? Or does it overflow into physical or something?

You get knocked unconscious once your stun gets to full. Any overflow goes into physical though, so it is possible to kill someone, but you have to be pretty dedicated to do so.

I thought using edge let you surpass your limits?

That is if you use push the limit instead of second chance. Here, I wrote up all the uses of edge in detail in the rules section.

Given my luck on this run thus far, I'll take it.
