3A - To Heir is Human

((@chougou - keep in mind that your current wounds give you a -3 penalty to just about everything, including initiative. your drones are unaffected by this so long as they are piloting themselves. ))

Torpor runs in ahead and fires at the guard, taking him down with ease. Chougou's drones also fire near the collapsing guard. The bullets would certainly serve as a distraction if he were still conscious...

Sato remains nowhere to be seen.

Torpor says, "Let's get out of here before backup arrives. Our ride is waiting. Sato will have to find his way after, I'll explain later, he's not himself at the moment."
Torpor stops to grab the guards commlink and security badge in case we need it to get out (badge) and listen in.

As Torpor is adding more commlinks to the collection of stuff he's looted from guards, a vaguely humanoid shaped whirlwind rushes through the hallway and releases a thick stream of yellow gas at him. He coughs and chokes on the gas, feeling his limbs grow numb. ((6S from the gas to Torpor))

((If you plan on attacking it, give me your actions, rolls and initiative, otherwise you can just do what you want to do in response))

Torpor rushes for the exit to the roof, now attempting to hold his breath as he goes. We need to get out of here, now.
While doing so he reaches for and places a stim patch on his neck (rating 5).

Chougou does his best to send a command to the drones to follow them up the stairs and to keep an eye out behind them.

Torpor holds his breath as he runs off to the stairs. Chougou meanwhile just runs behind, wincing in pain with his drones in tow. The whirlwind is impossible to outrun as it exhales a never-ending stream of knockout gas into the stairwell. Torpor is unaffected for now as he has prepared by holding his breath. Chougou is huffing and puffing and gets a deep breath of the gas. He feels immediately woozy. ((7S to Chougou))

((if either of you want to try holding your breath as you run up the stairs, I'll need a body+willpower check to see how long you can go while hoofing it up the stairs))

Chougou calls his rotodrone over to him and holds his breath as he grabs onto whatever handhold it has and instructs it to follow Torpor and drag him along as best it can. He then tells the crawler to fire at the gas once they are out of the way.

The rotodrone is clearly not meant to support a person's weight and provides almost no assistance as Chougou grabs onto it. Torpor manages to hold his breath as he makes his way up the stairs, but Chougou is simply too winded to even try and ends up falling unconscious as he gasps in huge breathfulls of the gas. He completely loses consciousness and tumbles backward down the stairs. This does nothing to help his current wounds, which open up in the fall.

Torpor glances over his shoulder as he runs to see Chougou unconscious on the landing behind him and the whirlwind issuing forth a steady stream of gas. A howl echoes through the stairwell and dog-Sato bursts through a door, glowing blade in hand. He pounces upon the whirlwind and slices through it. There is a flash of mana and then the spirit is gone. He looks up and growls at Torpor for a moment, then falls unconscious. As he does so, his body reverts back to its normal, human self.

Tammy can be heard over the commlinks, "I'm almost there. I won't be able to land, so you guys will have to climb up here with the ropes I'll be hanging down. Let me know when you're on the roof."

Torpor checks to so if the gas cloud is dissipating at all. If it is he will rush back and administer a stim patch to Sato and grab Chougou. If not maybe he can get control of the roto drone to maybe use it's fans to clear the immediate area.

With the whirlwind no longer there to emit it, the gas dissipates almost immediately. There is a faint scent in the air, but it is completely inert at this point.

Torpor sticks a stim patch on Sato first, not sure what to do about Chougou. Sato would be better suited to carrying him.

Sato awakens under the effects of the stim patch. He is no stronger than Torpor, but in better health. The after effects of the gas have Torpor feeling extremely nauseated and he can't help but vomit. Together they can probably hoist Chougou up the last flight of stairs though...

Chougou tries to find his way back to consciousness I suppose...

Torpor Grand Chougou with Sato and goes up the last flight of stairs as fast as possible. Once onto the roof he signals for Tammy to move closer with the line.

Working together, Sato and Torpor drag Chougou's body up the stairs as his drones follow behind. As they bust open the door to the roof, they can hear footsteps behind them. Security is on its way...

Outside, it is dark and fairly windy. Nowhere near as windy as it must be down below, but enough to make the chopper above visibly shake. The building itself also sways in the wind. Tammy has a few ropes lowered for you to grab onto, but Chougou will obviously have a hard time with that, given his current state of consciousness (or lack there of). He can be tied to a rope, of course, but that will take precious time and security is on its way. Otherwise you could try holding onto him until you get free, but that leaves the threat of dropping him or yourself...

Chougou remains motionless

Torpor shirts the doors behind them and shoots the locking mechanism if that helps, then rushes to the first rope with Chougou, doing a quick slip knot before putting it under Chougous shoulders. He then Grand the next closest rope and starts climbing.

The round hits the lock, but Torpor is unsure whether the capsule round damaged the lock or if that damage is enough to keep the door from opening or just prevent the lock from changing status. It's dark and he's got other things on his mind at the moment. As he ties off Chougou, it quickly becomes time to find out.

The door bursts open and two guards take cover behind a tiki bar, opening fire at you. Sato and Torpor manage to just barely avoid the incoming gunfire. Meanwhile a third guy, who appears to be the leader, uses a mirror from behind the door's wall to launch a bolt of lightning at the helicopter, which sparks up and shakes at the impact.

You hear Tammy over the commlinks, "We gotta get out of here guys or that guy is gonna take this bird down."

Torpor throws a flashbang grenade at the doorway and jumps onto the rope, over comms he says "Sato grab on, Tammy get us out of here." Then wraps the line around his waist and starts climbing.

The grenade lights up the roof as Sato and Torpor grab their ropes and hoist themselves up as the helicopter pulls away amidst a bolts of lightning. Despite the wind and lightning, the bird holds together. Chougou is in really bad shape though and once Tammy is out of sight of the building she shouts over the chopper noise, "Shorty doesn't look so good and I can't get us to a hospital in this storm. I'll try to find us a quiet rooftop to land on above the storm until it passes, but he looks like he needs treatment soon."
