Setting up home base

"Um, Wujen... We definitely have some sort of spirit in here. Hopefully contained to the summoning circle."

((what else is in the room, anything? Are the bodies outside the circle at all))

"What the hell was this place..." Chougou says over the comms

Ichigo looks in disbelief at the beauty in this room. "Wow it's really beautiful in here and so is she! (Over coms) So what the plan guys? "

With the exception of the skull and bones, all of the bodies appear to be outside of the binding circle. beyond the flowers, the room has the types of desks and equipment one would expect out of a lab. In one corner is a sink, stove and refrigerator, apparently once a kitchen for the people who worked here. There are also doors that lead to other rooms, all closed.

Wujen, currently projecting, is unable to hear his commlink.

While you all chatter to each other, the girl's gaze seems to fixate on Ichigo. The chains around her rattle as she stands up and allows the skull in her hands to clatter to the ground. In a voice that seems to echo through the cosmos, she says to Ichigo, "Please release me."

Walking up to a patch of flowers, Sun picks one and inspects it.

Torpor stops Sun, "Whatever you do, DO NOT CROSS THE CIRCLE."

"Wasn't planning to. Saw circles like this in Fable of the Firebirds. Nothing good happens when crossing magic circles. The flowers, however, are curious. So many of them here, where it would make no sense to be any flowers, and so much poison gas. I don't think that's a coincidence."

"That also means the plants could be poisonous to the touch. Be careful."

Torpor makes his way around to the right if possible, to check the first door. Is it locked? Gun at the ready he tries it. Making very sure not to get close to the circle.

A quick search of the other rooms reveals most of them to be small bedrooms, likely to allow the researchers to work here late without the need to go home. There is also a restroom. The flowers in the room all appear to be within the fairly large binding circle. It would be impossible to grab one without crossing the circle. From where Sun stands, he can see that the flowers appear to be an integral part of the circle.

The girl says in an unearthly voice, "Do you want flowers? You may take as many flowers as you wish."

WuJen tries to push his way into the room past the barrier after seeing everyone else enter.

Sun backs off of the flowers. Seeing WuJen enter, he asks him: "Hey, you think Cinder would enjoy burning some flowers?"

(ooc: I'm not physical, just manifested so you can see me. I can *try* to enter, but I don't know the roll for that, we will have to see if I succeed. I can't even see or hear through the open door till I make it across the barrier, which I assume conforms to the room as a lodge, rather than me trying to enter the binding circle.)

(ooc: correct, unless we put a commlink on 'speaker phone' I suppose, since I can hear things around me. Astral Perception is weird.)

"Hey Is everybody else hearing her or is it just me?"

((Wujen can try to slip through with an opposed magic+charisma check vs the barrier's force x 2.  This just lets you through, no foci or other spirits or whatever. If you get more than 1 net success, you can include other things with you, one per net success.

Otherwise you can try to break it down by attacking it with whatever means you have to attack it on the astral plane. it has a structure and armor rating equal to it's force and regenerates completely at the end of each combat turn. It also alerts the creator, if said creator happens to still be alive.))


The voice of the woman is audible to everyone in the room.

(ooc: can you do the roll... Without my PC I don't have my character sheet and I'm extremely lazy. I'd take the option of slipping through as opposed to breaking it down at first. Extra successes go to Little Dragon first, then Cinder.)

"No, no I do not hear anything."

The mana barrier is quite powerful so Wujen has a hard time getting through it. On his first few attempts he ends up smacking his face into the wall like the starting scene of one of the Harry Potter films. He pushes and pushes and pushes until he finally barely manages to squeak himself through. His spirit companions are forced to remain on the other side however. Once through the barrier he sees another, smaller but more powerful circular barrier in the center of the room with everyone else standing around it. He's fairly certain he won't be able to get through the second one no matter how hard he tries. Judging by how everyone is nervously standing around it, he probably wouldn't want to anyway. The rest of the room gives off a faint aura of focused magic. ((making a magical theory check for you)) The focused magic seems to be coming from some kind of external source, but Wujen doesn't remember enough about magical theory to come up with a better explanation than that.

Ok.. so no one instantly died and there is another barrier in here stronger than the last. I assume I'm missing something important.

(Ooc: how is the spirit in the circle able to see out? I am manifested, I assume I can see at least as much as a spirit. Also, I assume leaving will be equally difficult. Can't the spirits go to the metaplanes and come back where I am)

Chougou moves his rotodrone around the room trying to see anything interesting or relevant in the physical world.
