lol. Regardless of the rolls, you aren't going to get a mayor to felate a goat on live tv unless he is secretly into bestiality and exhibitionism already.
Also, Kingfisher's approach to negotiation is
always the jackhammer approach
This isn't an extended test though and if it were, you rolled it incorrectly. Extended tests don't last forever. After each check, you subtract a die until eventually you have no dice at all, at which point you would have failed if you didn't make the threshold already.
I'll take whatever the first roll was for results. I don't know if you realize this or not, but social skills are usually opposed rolls, which means your successes have to beat the number of your target's successes, modified by how generally willing they are to accept what you are proposing. So it is possible to get a lot of hits and fail, or only 1 and succeed. So if you seem to roll well and not get anywhere, or roll crappy but they are still really accommodating, that would be why. As usual, if you know all this, ignore me, I just want to avoid confusion for both you as well as any of the other players who may or may not understand how the rules work.
And also, as always, if you aren't sure of something, ask. While my NPCs may want you to fail, I always want you all to succeed.
