Sam in his apartment

The officer opens the door to the car and pushes Sam into it, saying, "I'm not at liberty to discuss the case. I'm sure he knows what he did."

Sam does not appear to be roughed up at all, just handcuffed.

"I will be fine," Sam replies to Sun. "I am sure this is just some misunderstanding."

For a moment, Sun stares at Sam, then the cop, then Sam again, then the cop again. He squints his eyes and looks at the cop.

"Hmmmmm...."

He then squints at Sam.

"Hmmmmm..."

He then squints back at the cop.

"Hmmmmm..."

Finally, he shrugs. "Alright. Enjoy your trip, I suppose."

Sam's shut into the back seat of the car and ten minutes later the other cop shows up with a sack under his arm. He slips into the car and says to the other cop, "Got what we came for. Lets get out of here."

Cop 2 nods and they drive off.

Sun, considering the cop may not have closed Sam's door, decides to head up to Sam's apartment to make sure nobody can come in and steal Sam's stuff.

Sun sees the cop walking out of Sam's apartment with a sack under his arm. He closes the door, but does not lock it. Not surprising, considering he likely does not have a key.

Sun makes himself wide, so the cop can't pass.

"Hey sir, you got a warrant for taking that out of that apartment?"

The cop looks down at Sun and says, "Do you live there?"

Sun shrugs. "Can't a concerned citizen make sure we live in a world where citizen rights are guaranteed? You need a warrant to take items from civilians' homes. So, as a concerned citizen, I will ask you again if you got a warrant."

The cop, looking mildly annoyed, says, "If you don't live here, an ongoing police investigation is none of your business. Now get out of the way before I arrest you for obstruction of justice."

Sun grabs his commlink and calls the local police station.
"Hello sir. I just came across a police officer committing a burglary. He's carrying a bag filled with things he took from an open apartment while the occupant was out, without any warant."
Sun passes on the location details.

Sun hears on the other side, "Congratulations! You're our 10th caller and the winner of free tickets to see Riddle Infinity tomorrow night at the Mingmei Central theater. All you have to do is tell us what station mixes the best hits in Mingmei?"

Sun's experience having been caught many times by the head monk at the monastery and talking his way out, along with his recent practicing of it, kicks in. Sun doesn't flinch, and continues the conversation as if he's talking to the police station.

The cop says, "Screw it, I don't have time for this," and pulls a gun on Sun. Luckily Sun puts down his commlink and readies himself for attack before the cop shoots.

Sun says, "Drawing a gun on an unarmed civilian who's just looking out to ensure police integrity? You're probably not even a real officer! Real officers wouldn't do that at all!" while he is in the middle of giving the officer a proper throttling. He gives a powerful kick before the officer has a chance to pull his trigger. The kick crunches through bone which shatters and punctures internal organs. The officer slumps to the ground, slowly choking on blood.

Considering Sun only wanted to neutralize the cop, he goes over to check if he's okay. After making sure he'll live, he takes the bag and checks what the officer tried to take with him.

The cop is unconscious and has some significant injuries that will need some treatment, but he should probably survive. The sack contains a cyberdeck and some assorted computer equipment that Sun doesn't recognize.

Holding tight onto the bag, Sun goes inside to look for a spare key, so he can lock Sam's place properly.

Sun finds a keyrack near the door. Grabbing the keys hanging there, he tests them in the door until he finds one that fits and locks the door to Sam's house.

Making sure the door is locked, Sun carries the bag downstairs, and leaves Sam's apartment building.

Sam is in the car with the other officer who is waiting on the first one when Sun gets back downstairs with the sack. The officer glances out the window of the car, waiting on his partner to get back.

Sun casually walks away, turning the first corner he comes across, and hides there, peeking out at the cop car as inconspicuously as he can.

The unmarked car sits for a while as the officer waits for his partner to come out, but he never does. Eventually the second officer locks the car and goes into the apartment building to see what happened to his partner.

Seeing as the cop has left, Sun tries to walk up to the car as casually as he can. Looking around while whistling merry tunes, he gets to the front door of the car and checks quickly to make sure Sam is in there. He then musters up all his strength and smashes his massive fist into the door, trying to get Sam out and away from these obviously shady cops.

Focusing on the door, Sun has no problem blasting a hole through it with his fist. The steel crumples and implodes and is easily discarded afterward. Though Sam has a hard time navigating his way out of the car without the use of his hands, he manages to get out with Sun's help.
