Sam in his apartment

Sam is not expecting visitors, and he doesn't really have any friends who would just drop by. He's not expecting a package. So, the doorbell ringing is suspicious. Still, trainer guy has been making weird shit happen around the apartment for weeks now. But usually not this innocuous.

Sam grabs his shotgun, and checks to see who is at the front door (either through a camera at the door if he has one, or else the peephole. He's not opening the door, and he's remaining quiet so as not to alert anyone to his definitive presence)

Sam moves away from the door, to the back of his apartment, so that he can speak in a low voice without the people outside his door hearing him.

He calls the local police department and, speaking in a low voice, asks them if the two apparent officers outside his door are actually police.

Sam rushes to the door, putting the shotgun back in its hiding spot (probably just a closet) on the way and peeps through the eyehole, trying to make out a badge number.
He also sends a message to Sun:
>>>>>> There are people knocking at my door.
They are dressed as police, but I am not convinced they are.
Can you come here?

Sun hears a chime on his commlink and actually thinks to check what it is. Through sheer luck he manages to find the message sent by Sam, however his commlink mysteriously freezes, leaving the message forever burned into the display of his device and making it impossible to ever see anything else. At least he got the message though! However, being unable to make out what is on the screen, Sun is unable to send a reply or view any further messages. Not that Sam knows any of this, of course.

Sun taps the commlink's screen. As that doesn't help, he taps the commlink against the corner of the table. That doesn't seem to loosen the stuck message up either, so he just shrugs and puts the thing away. Quickly rushing outside, he passes Sanji.

"Hey Sanji, I'm gonna be out for a bit. Gotta help a friend out who's in some sort of trouble."

By the time he finishes the sentence, he's reached the door and goes outside.

Passers-by simply ignore the dwarf chasing down the streets, or just give a bored glance before going on with their business. It only takes a few minutes before Sun reaches Sam's apartment. He runs inside and swiftly climbs the stairs. Without even breaking a sweat, he arrives at Sam's hallway.

Sam says, "I am on the line with dispatch. What is your badge number? I want to make sure you are police before I open the door."

Though Sun is making excellent time running to Sam's apartment, it will still take some time before he arrives, and Sam has people knocking on his door right now. ((I'll let you know when Sun arrives, just hang on until then))

Sam peeks through the peephole and can barely make out that they have a badge at all. The number is impossible to make out through the tiny peephole. When Sam calls out through the door, one of the officers says, "14188. Now open up."

Sam reports the number to the dispatch woman on the phone.

The woman on the phone says, "Records indicate it is a valid badge number for officer Kudo Namura."

"Okay," Sam says to dispatch woman, and hangs up.

He opens the door.

One of the two officers standing outside says, "Mr Decker, I assume? At least you look like the guy from the trids. We've received a report that you were involved in a security breach at a local research facility. We'd like to come in and ask you some questions about that."

Sam steps outside his door, closing it behind him.
"You can ask me questions," he says.
He sends a message to Sun:

Sun completely ignores Sam's message, as he has more important issues at hand. His commlink being a tad bit broken may have something to do with it as well.

Sun's commlink makes a chime, but given that its display is frozen, he sees nothing as he continues his jog over.

The officer says, "Can you tell us your whereabouts two days ago, particularly in the morning?"

"No," Sam answers.

"You being a wiseass, son?" the cop snarls, clearly not amused, "You have two options here. You start telling us about what you were doing, or we take you down to the police station. If I get any more smart Alec nonsense out of you, and I guarantee you'll be spending time in a cell tonight."

"My Auntie Muku always tells me never to talk to police without a lawyer. Even if I have not done anything wrong," Sam says.

"Yeah well Auntie Muku isn't the one going down to the station," officer says as he turns to the other one and says, "Alright, cuff him."

"Hands behind your back," the second one orders Sam as he pulls a pair of handcuffs out of his utility belt.

"Do you have a warrant for my arrest?" Sam asks, while not resisting physically.

Sam
"Enough out of you, chubby," the first officer says as the second one puts handcuffs on Sam, "Take him down to the car, I'll be with you in a minute."

The second officer nods and takes Sam downstairs and outside towards an unmarked car. He notices Sun jogging up the street towards him.



Sun
Sun makes excellent time running over to Sam's place and doesn't even break a sweat. As he's approaching, he notices a police officer pushing Sam towards a car with his hands cuffed behind his back.

Though it isn't stated, presumably the police yanked Sam's data cable (if not put some sort of restraint on his data jack) when they were cuffing him. As soon as Sam saw them making the move toward restraint, he reformats his deck.

The sight of Sam being handcuffed and dragged outside by a cop stops Sun in his tracks. He turns to Sam.

"Hey, you alright?"

Then, towards the cop:

"Why are you dragging him away? Did he do something wrong?"
