I will do some research and when that doesn't pan out i will go ask Wujen about the best way to get me some magic.

WuJen sits down with Ichigo to discuss how to aquire magic if one is not awakened.

"It isn't something done often, and I suspect not lightly. If you aren't born with it."
"I don't know it, but I do know of a ritual that can call spirits, though they owe no services and cannot be controlled. It can be performed by the unawakened. Certain powerful free spirits are known to enter pacts and Grant powers to mortals, and you don't need to be awakened for that.

I also know the ritual for summoning the demon that gave you the knowledge of the cure in the first place. She could almost certainly awaken magic in you, though it will likely cost another portion of your soul."

well this is all a bit confusing, i am not going to summon taishoko unless i absolutely have too.

well my only choice is the summoning the free spirit, does your with know any friendly spirits that would be willing to talk to me. if not then please teach how to do this.

"I don't actually know any free spirits, they are fairly rare. Its possible someone at the University or The Institute of Sorcery would know the Calling ritual.

I also know an AI that lives in an online magical library named Mikuzumi that might be able to give you some help."

ok so what do you think is my best bet at getting this done?? should i try the AI spirit or should i go to the university or the institute? your the expert on this.

"I learned most of my magic from the Yamaguchi, actually, so I don't really know much about how magic is taught or who to talk to at the schools. I know they have instructors and resources for research with spirits."

"However, Mikuzumi is just a commcall away, assuming it has time and inclination to discuss it. I'd start there."

WuJen makes a call to Mikuzumi to make an introduction and see what kind of help it can offer.

"ok lets do this..i really appreciate the help"

ill take the package and open it up whats in it.

WuJen looks in astral space to see if there are any lingering auras.

ichigo will look at the piece of paper and look at the name on wujens comms.

To Ichigo, the paper looks like a normal piece of paper. To Wujen, it looks like a void. Not like lacking of life and energy of an object or someone who has lost a bit too much essence (like Ichigo), but more like a black hole in the astral universe from which nothing can escape. He feels like if he gazes too deeply into it, his own essence will be lost forever.

"What in the hells is that!?"

"this (ichigo looks at and then twists and turn the torn piece of paper) is the package that your ai buddy sent me why whats wrong with this torn piece of paper?" ichigo will hand Wujen the torn piece of paper.

WuJen backs away, not taking the paper.

"I don't like how that looks. I'm not sure what could leave that aura, but it looks very dangerous. I think its the 'written' form of that spirits name. Say it's name, and be very, very polite if anything shows up."

ichigo is starting to get worried about holding the torn piece of paper after watching Wujen's reaction to it, ichigo will put it back into the container that it came in. "so how bad it this cuz your reaction has not instilled any sence of confidence in this summoning what so ever"

"I've never seen anything like it. It looks like a black pit that can consume souls. How bad that is, I leave to you. You've little enough soul left that it can't be too dangerous to touch or it would have taken you already.

Many things in the astral look terrifying, but are relatively harmless. Other than damage to your essence that demon didn't do you any harm, and gave as much as you could hope for in return... but I'd consider her just as terrifying."

"Well Wujen with that said i think i will wait on this paper thing"

"Very well. I don't know anyone at the schools, so I guess we could just head over there and ask around."

"Ok lets do this then."

WuJen leans in "It's something of an academic study. I've personally witnessed a metaplanar entity take a real, friendly interest in him, even offering him some kind of esoteric knowledge that he frankly is unable to begin to comprehend. However, I was hoping someone in your research departments knew of a powerful enough free spirit that might be convinced to pact with him. Actually bargaining with it would be his own responsibility, of course, and no liability would fall on the university as a result."
